Felony Arrest

On October 22, 2023, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office was called to a disturbance at 405 Grant Street, Canton, Missouri.  Upon arrival, EMS and law enforcement found April Wolf, of the home, with a severe gunshot wound.  Her husband, Adam Wolf, reported he had accidentally shot his wife while they were fighting.

Mrs. Wolf was transported by ambulance to Blessing Hospital but later succumbed to her injury.

Adam Wolf was taken into custody and transported to the Lewis County Jail.

On October 23, 2023, Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney Chelsea Fellinger filed formal charges against Mr. Wolf including Murder in the Second Degree, a class A felony, Armed Criminal Action, an unclassified felony, and Unlawful use of a Weapon While Intoxicated, a class E felony.

A warrant was issued by the Honorable Thomas Redington based on the formal charging documents.  No bond was authorized.

Mr. Wolf remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail.

The investigation is on-going and an autopsy is scheduled.

The Sheriff's Office was also assisted by the Lewis County Ambulance District, Adams County Coroner and Quincy Police Department.

All charges are merely allegations and all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
