Felony Arrest

On November 15, 2023, members of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office received a report of a stolen electric meter from Lewis County REC.   While investigating the matter, the stolen meter was located at a rural farm located at 10467 290th Street, La Belle, Missouri.  Law enforcement made contact with the resident, Amelia Caskey, to further investigate.  While conducting the investigation law enforcement found several people hiding inside the residence.  Three individuals were taken into custody.  The stolen meter and illegal drug related items were also seized.

Amelia Caskey, age 38, of the home, was arrested on one count of receiving stolen property, a class D Felony, one count of possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, (methamphetamine), and one count of tampering with a utility, a class A misdemeanor.

Formal charges were filed by Prosecutor Chelsea Fellinger on November 16, 2023 and a warrant was issued by the Honorable Corey R. Moon.

Shawnna R. Emerson, age 53, of Hannibal, Missouri, was arrested on a Marion County warrant for failure to appear regarding felony probation. Emerson is under the supervision of the Missouri Division of Probation and Parole.

Seth E. Emerson, age 24, of Hannibal, Missouri, was also arrested on a Marion County warrant for failure to appear regarding felony probation. Emerson is under the supervision of the Missouri Division of Probation and Parole.

Ms. Caskey remains incarcerated in the Clark County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash only bond.  Caskey is also under the supervision of the Missouri Division of Probation and Parole.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
