Details:

On January 30, 2026, Deputy Toby Moss was on routine patrol near Lewistown, Missouri, when he observed a vehicle with a non-operational tail light. He conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Stephanie Cantrell. During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Moss requested consent to search the vehicle, which was granted by Ms. Cantrell.

While searching the vehicle, Deputy Moss located two Ziploc baggies containing a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, glass smoking pipes, a digital scale, and other related items. The crystal substance field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine and weighed approximately 15 grams.

Ms. Cantrell was released pending further investigation.

Deputy Toby Moss submitted a request for formal charges for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

On February 10, 2026, Lewis County Prosecutor Chelsea Fellinger filed formal charges alleging Ms. Cantrell committed the Class D felony offense of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and the Class A misdemeanor offense of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

On February 11, 2026, the Honorable Corey Moon, Associate Judge of Lewis County, issued a warrant for Ms. Cantrell and set bond at $20,000.00.

On April 6, 2026, Ms. Cantrell surrendered herself to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office and the court. She posted bond and was subsequently released.
