Details: On January 11, 2026, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office was called to a residence located on Old Highway 61, Taylor, Missouri to investigate a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with the victim, who reported Amber Johnson, had come to the residence and knocked on the door. Johnson was asked to leave and refused. The victim also alleged Johnson was threatening him as well. Johnson was found by law enforcement leaving the scene approximately one-half mile from the residence.
Johnson was arrested for harassment and peace disturbance and then transported to the Lewis County Jail.
Deputy Abigail Lyon then sought formal charges for harassment and peace disturbance.
On January 12, 2026, Lewis County Prosecutor Chelsea Fellinger filed formal charges alleging Ms. Johnson had committed the class A misdemeanor of harassment in the second degree and the class B misdemeanor of peace disturbance.
On January 12, 2026, the Honorable Corey Moon, Associate Judge of Lewis County, issued a warrant for Ms. Johnson and set bond at $2500.00.
On January 13, 2026, Ms. Johnson was released from jail with several bond conditions.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the La Grange Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Marion County Sheriff's Department.
