On September 30, 2026, at approximately 9:58 pm., the Lewis County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence in Lewis County regarding a delayed disturbance.

Upon arrival, Deputy Steven Battaglia learned that an argument had occurred during a cookout and had escalated into a physical altercation involving Johannes Dippenhaar and several individuals at the residence.

Witnesses reported Dippenhaar became physical with one individual before others attempted to intervene. During the altercation, Dippenhaar was reported to have shoved another individual from a chair, placed his hands around the individual's neck, and struck him in the face.

Deputy Battaglia observed injuries to the individual, including large contusions above the left eyebrow and on the chin, along with lacerations near the left ear.

Witnesses further reported that Dippenhaar left the residence before later returning with a large piece of wood and making threats toward the group. A witness captured a portion of the incident on video, which showed Dippenhaar standing near the group holding the piece of wood while yelling.

Deputy Battaglia and Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Nicholas Bringer responded to another residence in an attempt to locate Dippenhaar.

While traveling northbound on State Highway J, Deputy Battaglia observed a white work truck matching the vehicle seen in the witness video. The vehicle turned onto 250th Street, where an investigative stop was conducted.

Dippenhaar admitted he had been involved in an argument at the residence. Deputy Battaglia observed injuries to Dippenhaar, including lacerations to his knuckles and a contusion near his right eye.

Dippenhaar was advised of his Miranda rights and admitted he had consumed alcohol. Dippenhaar also acknowledged possessing the large piece of wood during the incident.

Trooper Bringer obtained a preliminary breath sample, which indicated the presence of alcohol. Dippenhaar was subsequently arrested by Trooper Bringer for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Battaglia submitted a formal request for charges related to Assault 3rd degree and 4th degree.

On October 01, 2026, Lewis County Prosecutor Chelsea Fellinger filed formal charges alleging Dippenhaar committed a Class E Felony of Assault in the 3rd Degree and a Class C Misdemeanor of Assault in the 4th Degree..

On October 01, 2026, Lewis County Associate Judge Corey Moon issued a warrant for the above-mentioned charges and issued a $10,000 cash only bond. Dippenhaar remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail at this time.
