Details:

On October 23, 2025, members of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office were called to a domestic disturbance in rural Canton, Missouri. Upon arrival, a female victim reported being assaulted by her paramour.  The victim reported she had been hit multiple times, bitten and pulled by the hair.  The deputy then located the male suspect, identified as Matthew J. Fink, at a neighboring residence.  

Deputy Toby Moss arrested Mr. Fink for domestic assault and he was transported to the Lewis County Jail.  Deputy Moss then sought formal charges through the Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney Chelsea Fellinger. 

On October 24, 2025, Mrs. Fellinger filed a formal charge of domestic assault in the 3rd degree, a class E felony.  
 
The Honorable Corey Moon, Associate Judge, then issued a warrant for Mr. Fink.  
 
He remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash only bond.
